The design brief was the book itself. An exposed hand-stitched spine, textured paper stock, and a sharp red that commands attention before a single page is turned. Typography is not decoration here, it is the subject. Serif type and editorial composition frame Schapiro's images the way a curator frames a photograph: with deliberate distance and deep respect.

A brand identity rooted in the land it comes from. The palette was drawn directly from the Dão region's vineyards: deep, earthy, unpolished. Before any visual decision was made, a market study of existing regional wine brands shaped the direction. Where competitors leaned traditional and safe, WUL went bold. Heavier type, harder textures, stronger contrast. Wine that knows what it is.

Previous editions of Impulso leaned on illustration and type. This time, we used the city itself. 3D photogrammetric scans of Caldas da Rainha's urban landscape were distorted and reconstructed into a visual texture that runs through every touchpoint: posters, OOH, merch, digital. The festival's identity became inseparable from its location. Art direction in collaboration with Beatriz Ferreira.

A cross-section of work produced for clients across different industries, from a regional cheese brand to multinational tech companies, conferences, and cultural events. Each project required a distinct visual approach: some typographic-led, others image-driven, others built on illustration and colour. The common thread is adaptability, designing within a brand's logic while keeping the work visually sharp.

A personal body of work built around learning by doing. Each piece explores a specific problem: the behaviour of light, the feel of a material, the weight of a composition. Less about polished output, more about developing an art director's eye through a medium that forces precision.
